  • This update is great, but I hope they add atmospheric landings soon.

  • On one hand, I'm pissed because I had to learn without training wheels, and if anything it made it seem more, Idk, real? Like I actually had to learn how to fly my space ship. On the other hand, I can see that this will bring in new blood, which is always nice.

I just hope they keep it slow, if that makes sense. Like, training wheels, it helps out, but you're not going to go anywhere far with them on.

Also, if all this shit comes enabled by default, I hope autodocking will come standard on ships now, it takes up valuable space on my type 9.

  • They really need to introduce pod, like in Eve, when ship explodes instead of going to rebuy screen. And if you destroy pilot pod , he looses modules and gets bare bones ship for rebuy.

  • The update completely broke the game for thousands of us. Frame rates in the toilet. Page after page of identical complaints on the support site. Unplayable as it is. This needs to be fixed like yesterday. How could they roll this piece of crap out?!?!?

  • Hmmm. Did i really hear right that there is no significant update planned until late 2020?? There are still no landable atmospherics, the improvement to ice planets graphics was pulled from a previous update and still hasn't appeared…. Well I guess I won't be playing ED until late 2020, and then it depends whats in the update. Sounds like the dev team has lost it's way big time, and maybe it's time for the game to fizzle out.

  • I have an imperial cutter. The drift is so bad with 760 tons of cargo you need a docking computer.

  • I just started literally playing today. I play in VR and it’s a great experience. I’ve β€˜played’ before but the controls and info bugged me out. Today I actually got around properly a bit, all though my docking needs some work, it’s fun and immersive.

Any tips for what I should do to progress better and get new ships?

  • I've manually docked and undocked my ships countless thousands of times. I've proved that I'm capable of doing it. Just let me and anyone else have our docking computers if we want it.

  • I have one, maybe two, complaints about the update.
1: Menu changes are something I am always against.
2(maybe): I am probably going to have to find more empty keys to bind stuff to. I don't think "" is bound…
Everything else is good. I am rather interested in the auto docking as I have never bought the module. Those smaller slots were always needed for something else, like a fuel scoop.

  • I'm glad to see they are lowering the difficulty curve for beginners, with out limiting more seasoned players.

Far to often I want to introduce someone to the game but I have to add the disclaimer for the rough start the current state offers.

Maybe this will bring some new faces to the game. And not just those who either learn quickly, or have the tenacity to push on threw the first few days.

It took me a bit to get the hang of the controls on the Xbox but now where I play other space games I miss the control I have in Elite Dangerous.

  • I been playing ED more than 200 hours and I am happy about the updates. I am a space trucker (hauler) and can't wait to get the new docking computer and the supercruise assists. See you Commanders in the Black.

  • Sounds really good this update. I know a lot of my friends get put off by the amount of systems in the game so this is a good step forward to help the new comers get over the learning curve this game has. Thumbs up from me.

  • I just installed the game yesterday. So is that a good thing for me as a new player? Should I just wait until tomorrow's patch drops before a start a new game?

  • I welcome anything that can help draw new players into the Galaxy. Games like these can be really hard to get past the starting hurdles and have it really click, so anything that really helps with that is a-ok with me for them to add. I've got a huge, mostly unexplored galaxy to fly around in, I can wait for the next expansion.

  • I gave up on the game with the release of the Thargoids. No real economy. Some day I may find a reason t get back to it. Graphically astounding but that is all it holds for me.

  • Let newbies use the auto dock feature. When I first started ED, I tried to play the game for 3-4 hours of constantly failing how to do anything. Then figured it out but could not find out how to re-dock or anything, and logged out for like a month. Only came back because in another VR game, some random guy was talking to someone else and I joined in. The guy was one of the dudes in the Candy Crew, and gave me pointers and advice. Without those people I wouldn't have put many hours into the game after that (A-rated Anaconda and Python for mining, 3-4 other ships for combat, one for thargoid hunting).

  • My only grievance with the Advanced Docking Computer is the fact that busy ports like Jaque's Station are already an NPC traffic nightmare, and the human desire to simplify things is going to make it even worse.

  • Yeah, god forbid the game explain it's mechanics clearly and concisely.

God forbid the game automate the absolutely mind-numbing task of staying aligned to your destination for 10mins of braindead straight directional flying.

God forbid the trading panel actually have info on it, and simple calculators to tell you if your price is good given local market values.

(You know, a thing we have now, in the distant past of elite dangerous?)

  • When will we be able to see our own pilot and walk around on the planets and our own ship? There should be auto pilot that will fly our ship from point A to B! I don't like the way we have to keep on steering our ship when flying from jump drive until we get to the locations. Also we need a better way to pan view our ship, because the way it is now is to hard and have to work to many keys. I hope this will give the makers of this game some more good ideals. I like and play E.D. when I have the time from my work. Just keep making the game more better. With a few changes, this will be much better then Star Citizen to me. Why do we have to drop out of hyper drive real close to the star anyway? Why not drop out in open space away from the star? Thank You.

  • Nice update, but I wish they develop the walking in ship/station update. That give such a lot of new and interesting gameplay. No more flying from spreadsheet to spreadsheet glued to your pilot chair.
